Pancreas an elongated gland of 7-8 inches positioned horizontally located in the abdomen and behind the lower portion of the stomach. The pancreas adds its own digestive juices called enzymes to the food. The pancreas also produces the hormone insulin, which helps to control the amount of sugar in the blood.
